Making sense of risk, safety & governance for Sports and their Governing Bodies
Who are we?
Driven by the belief that great safety and risk systems support—not hinder—performance and culture, we are passionate about working with sporting organisations to build and develop their professional capabilities in this space.
Our goal is to help governing bodies bridge the gap between governance, legislation, risk, and all those invested in bringing sport to life—from community and their volunteers to the high performance teams and elite players, those putting the local Cricket match on a Sunday afternoon, to the Event Ops team delivering a major international match at the MCG.
We help Boards and Executives gain clarity on what they may not know, so they can confidently protect and grow their organisations, their people, and the wider sporting community.
We are experienced in supporting organisations to embed effective, risk, safety and governance structures and practices that align with their culture, values and objectives.
We specialise in creating practical, pragmatic, easy-to-implement approaches to risk and safety—frameworks that not only meet compliance requirements but also support an efficiency and effectiveness in how people work and play, as well as working with People & Culture and Safety & Risk to build a great place to work.

Mikaela has deep experience across risk, safety, and governance, in health, FMCG, retail, and now sports and major events, with her focus on making complex frameworks simple, practical, and people-focused.
She has post grad qualifications in OHS & ergonomics, and has a very strong training and presenting background. She is passionate about working in sport, with her main aim to help governing bodies bridge the gap between risk, compliance, culture, and performance - so that safety and governance don’t just sit on paper, but is practical and operationally relevant.
More specifically, after 6 years in Safety & Risk at Cricket Australia, she understands the importance of building strong, trusted relationships across Boards, executive teams, safety leaders, and high-performance teams, and for turning risk language into answering the “what does this actually mean for us?” questions that employees and athletes want to know.
